Theme

The Salish Sea is our playground. Extending from Olympia to Johnstone Strait, including the Strait of Juan de Fuca, our San Juan and Gulf Islands are its heart. The Bellingham Yacht Club 13th Annual Autumn Equinox Cruise to Rosario Resort will be September 22, 23, & 24, 2017.

Every year the Autumn Equinox marks a day of equal light and darkness and the BYC traditional end of our cruising season. This popular and intimate cruise is about our boating friendships and our shared enjoyment of the Salish Sea in one of the nicest locations in the Sea. Rosario Resort and Spa is located on the east shore of East Sound, Orcas Island.

Jul 5 – Jul 13 all-day

Itinerary
Join us as we gunkhole through the Gulf Islands immediately following the 4th of July Cruise.  This cruise is being led by BYC member Rich Hanset who has cruised to these destinations many times and is very experienced.
The Gulf Islands have been one of Rich’s favorite areas for cruising for the last 15+ years because of the wide variety of venues, the more relaxed environment and the close proximity of the various bays and harbors, not to mention crabbing.  The relatively short distance between stops makes it perfect for power and sail boats and leaves lots of time for relaxation.
This cruise is designed to be flexible.  You can hop on or off the cruise as you wish and will have your choice of docking, mooring, or anchoring at most destinations.  If you decide to go to the dock, you will be responsible for making your own reservations.
For more details, click on Rich’s presentation below:
The deadline for signing up for this cruise is June 1st.
Itinerary:
July 5  Roche Harbor to Port Sidney (dock)
July 6 Todd Inlet/Butchart Gardens (anchor)
July 7 Cowichan Bay
July 8 Ganges (anchor or dock)
July 9 Montague Harbour (anchor/dock/mooring buoy)
July 10 Telegraph Harbour (dock)
July 11 Ladysmith (dock)
July 12 Nanaimo (dock/anchor)
July 13 Nanaimo (end of Gunkholing cruise and start of Desolation Sound cruise)
July 14 Roche Harbor
July 15 Return to Bellingham
