Every year the Autumn Equinox marks a day of equal light and darkness.  A meaning of the Celtic Autumn Equinox Alban Elfed is “Light of the Water.”  Around the world, from Persia, to China, the end of the summer and beginning of autumn is a special time.

In the tradition of celebrating the end of the season, this popular and intimate cruise is one of our most popular, in part because of the friendships, the enjoyment of the Saturna Island Wine & Harvest Festival, as well as relaxing in one of the nicest locations in the San Juan and Gulf Islands.

Cruise Overview

There will be an informal Predicted Log Race from Bellingham to Poets Cove with prizes for the top three winners, as well as the famous and coveted Last Place award.  Once again the winner will receive a free stay for the weekend of the cruise, and last place will receive a gift certificate for a one-night stay at Poets Cove.

On Saturday you can either attend the Saturna Wine Festival or take a walking tour of the art galleries on North Pender.  Saturday evening Poets Cove will again be serving another dinner that promises to be even better than last years, that people are still talking about. Finally, we are awaiting confirmation of a special event that will both educate and entertain us that evening.

Sunday many of us join one another for the breakfast buffet in Aurora’s Restaurant before we head out for home – well at least for those going home that day.
