On April 17, twelve BYC boats cruised to Anacortes’ Cap Sante Marina for a weekend of fun, food, and music. The festivities started on Friday night when we joined the Anacortes Yacht Club for their Five Buck Night, just a short walk from the dock. AYC welcomed us warmly with a delicious baked potato bar and entertained us with a fashion show debuting their club ships store items.
On Saturday, we awoke to bright sunshine and enjoyed a leisurely day of hiking, biking, shopping, and relaxing on our boats during the day. Then, about 40 of us gathered that night at the party float for a potluck ham dinner topped off with strawberry shortcake. But the best part came after dinner when Joe and Carol Young entertained us with two hours of music and singing. They were wonderful and we had so much fun singing along! Thanks Joe and Carol!
Sunday morning, we gathered one last time for a breakfast of fresh waffles before heading home. It was really a great way to start of the BYC cruising season. Special thanks to Steve and Gerri Kersey for co-hosting this event with Chris and Vickie Olson as well as the Wrights, Campbells, and Ringlers. It was truly a team effort.
